Sugar Shack Music News:

Just Boiled: So far it's been a light spring schedule from the Shack, highlighted by a return on April 4 to the Purple Moon Pub under the painted sky where - aside from the Shack itself - it seems like it all began. Thanks Dan! And if you caught our most recent show at the Purple Moon, you now know that yes, it's true, there is yet again one more brand new Sugar Shack original, though without audio from that night I guess the new song will have to remain in top secret development....

On Tap: Tonight! 5/14 at JP's in Burlington, 9pm. Our Burlington debut (in an opening band capacity), I'd say we're just looking to get out alive. Read reviews of JP's here to find out why. After that it'll be a drift until Tarmageddon on June 13. But in between, and going back to the days when snow still ruled this landscape, we've had a nice run of practices, kinda rare for the Shack so something must be up! And we're gonna roll that momentum forward in May or June as we finally gear up to take the plunge and do some recording to properly document some of these tunes. Album titles?

Not-So-News: Sugar Shack's 2008 Fall Tour wrapped up Rocktober (why not? it's what it is!) with another succesful Halloween Haunt at Pete and Keri's - Hauntington 3. No recordings from ghoul night to prove it, but Matt S's 40th in Fayston yielded some keeper tracks, one of which has been added just down the page from here. And I should definitely mention that the costume prize ($0 this year) went uncontested to the gang of Shackheads who wore (and made) their own "fall tour" t-shirts - including highly individualized hand-drawn replicas of the authentic Sugar Shack logo!

Ahhh, Photos: Man, this band is light on pics. Everyone's got a phone camera, let's get some pictures! Something. One of these days someone is going to get a fat disc collection and more than a few Sugar Shack stickers for hooking us up with some good snapshots of the boys in the band. Meanwhile, click here to see the best we've got on file....then bring your camera to the next show....

New Recordings: We got some of our truly best stuff on tape (literally. We're old school.) from Matt's party, at least one of which is below, and I'm going to put a few more online soon so check back. Meanwhile, here again is our ever-developing album, culled from the romping reality of various live gigs and practice sessions:

2007: Year Of The Shack, last year's ultimate tour compilation, is still available as a 3-disc monster set or as a 1-disc sampler. Tell me which version you want or just say "Shack it to me!" and I'll decide.

Solo report:

Coming up - the Advance Music singer/songwriter contest, Tuesday October 28th, 7pm sharp at Metronome in Burlington. What will I play? Come out and see and cheer me into the finals!

Wow, I haven't done a solo gig for far too long, but I will again more often this fall and stick season....
